The Giacopiane Lake, or rather, the Giacopiane lakes, because they are actually two artificial reservoirs, are located in the Sturla valley in the Municipality of Borzonasca at 1,015 m above sea level. The one at a higher altitude, the main and largest, can be comfortably covered in all its contours, enjoying a beautiful almost alpine panorama, even if on fine days you can see the sea and, often, encounter wild horses and grazing cows. The south side is bordered by an imposing dam which can also be traveled on.
The lake can be reached by all means via the S.P. 586. About 6 km from Borzonasca take the fork on the right. After another 7 km of fairly asphalted road, you will arrive near the dam.
The climb is easily "pedaled", at least for slightly trained cyclists, and very pleasant to ride. For those arriving by motor vehicle it is necessary to have a ticket, which can be purchased in the bars of Borzonasca, otherwise the fine is certain!
