Construction of the three-aisled hall church began around 1385 in place of a Romanesque predecessor from the 12th century and was completed with the completion of the tower around 1500. At 130.6 meters, the tower is the highest brick tower in the world. The high altar is made of sandstone and was probably built around 1424. The lime wood choir arch crucifix from 1495 is one of the largest of the late Gothic with a length of 5.80 m.
