Altessing is part of the Essing market in the Altmühltal, which is particularly known for its large, curved wooden bridge and Randeck Castle. The Martinskirche in Altessing has a remarkable tower: on the square, Romanesque substructure, an equally high, clapboard-roofed spire was placed on the square, Romanesque substructure in 1709, which ends with an onion dome. In the pretty interior, the rococo high altar and the pulpit are particularly worth seeing.
