The current bridge is built in the dawn of the twentieth century, of iron and wood, it maintains the structure and style of its time that gives it the appearance of a footbridge. The current bridge was preceded by another of the same name, built between 1533 and 1589 at the initiative of Canon Juan del Pozo, originally in stone, to cross the Huécar gorge and connect the Monastery of San Pablo with the city . This bridge collapsed. The current iron and wooden bridge was built in 1902. The project was carried out by the Valencian civil engineer José María Fuster y Tomás, and was inaugurated on April 19, 1903. It is a straight bridge, 100 meters long with two spans and a maximum height of 60 meters, supported by the starting pillars of masonry of the previous bridge and, in the middle, through an iron strut.
