Vielbrunn lies in the middle of the largest district of the Odenwaldkreis, at a height of 380 to 550 meters on a Buntsandstein mountain range, which extends far from north to south, from the Main to the Neckar. The total area of the district is 2423 hectares, of which 524 hectares of agricultural land, 1843 hectares of forest, 34 hectares of farm and building area, the remainder are paths and water. The district itself consists of 77% forest. To the Michelstadt district Vielbrunn include the hamlet Bremhof, Brunnthal, Hainhaus, Geyersmühle and the Hessian part of Ohrnbach. The district is bordered to the north by the municipality Lützelbach, in the east by the city of Klingenberg, the market communities Laudenbach, Kleinheubach, the city of Miltenberg and the market town Weilbach, (all 5 district Miltenberg in Bavaria), in the south to the district of Würzberg and Weiten- Buttocks within the city Michelstadt, as well as in the west to the city Bad König with the neighboring village Kimbach.
