Circumnavigating the dam on an approximately 23 km long path, which runs partly on driveways, partly on narrow trails and has a considerable amount of altitude, is a great little adventure. 🥰

Ansich is the cooler season optimal to view the Wahnbachtalsperre. On the one hand you see the dams better through the leafless trees and on the other hand, because there is no direct way along the shore, you keep running up and down, and it gets pretty warm. Once around it's about 33km.

Dams-trail
The approximately 24-kilometer circular trail leads through changing meadows and forest landscapes and stream valleys, past small villages. On mostly natural paths, the hiker enjoys undisturbed views over the Wahnbachtalsperre in many places. However, the designated path must not be left.
During the hike several ascents and descents are to be mastered, the entire route can only be created by experienced hikers. Smaller sections are also suitable for walks. Due to the path portion of the path can be very slippery in humid weather. Telescopic poles can be helpful here.
The circular route is well signposted. Additional information boards along the route inform about the dam, fauna and flora.
