There are a large number of burial mounds in the municipality of Rhenen. You will find them between Rhenen and Amerongen, but especially in the immediate vicinity of Elst. The burial mounds date from the Bronze Age (2100-800 BC).

A burial mound is a mound from prehistoric times that was used as a burial place.
