No matter which side you climb the Rohrhardsberg from: close to the summit you will be rewarded at the Schwedenschanze with a wonderful view and good food in a rustic atmosphere.

Only cold food. Hüttenteller and cucumber bread were tested and found to be recommended.
The innkeepers are also great die and the view from the outdoor seating also.

Gasthaus Schwedenschanze at 1130 m altitude, snack bar and delicious cakes and, of course, witty drinks! Great view on the terrace! Opening times Summer time from May 1 to December 23, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 10 a.m., winter time from December 26 to March 17, daily from 12 p.m., closed on Monday and Tuesday.

I fell in love with the “Schänzle”, as people here call the Gasthaus zur Schwedenschanze, at first sight. It's a mountain inn like you rarely find. The restaurant is cosy and the view outside is fantastic.

On the Yacher Höhenweg the only way to stop so take the opportunity. Everyone is welcome even if you just order a drink and sit outside. Well toilet everything there .... Half kilometer further down on my tour is also a fountain. At the latest since all bottles fill up.

We sat in the sun in front of the rustic restaurant and enjoyed the landscape and the beer. We would have preferred to stay seated until sunset.

I was there too early after the first Vesper and cannot rate the food, but the blackcurrant spritzer fizzed and the location is super nice. Great view to the Swabian Alb.

Great restaurant with very friendly hosts and a fantastic view of the landscape from the outside. In summer only open on weekends and public holidays from 10am. I can highly recommend the sheet cake.
