Due to the dry summers of 2018 and 2019, unfortunately, the spruce stands on Dörenberg have been badly damaged. Due to the bark beetle plague, the State Forestry of Lower Saxony has cleared larger areas and in places already replanted. The clearing offer great views of the surrounding area, which did not exist before. I would wish that we mountain bikers on these cleared surfaces if then only very, very considerate way, because there can quickly erosion damage.
