The Wünschsee in Peterswörth / Gundelfingen on the Danube is a very popular diving lake, especially for beginners. The lake is divided into a southern and a northern area. Diving is only allowed in the southern part. The northern part is reserved exclusively for bathers. Since the lake has an inlet and outlet as well as 3 springs, the water quality is excellent despite the shallow depth of approx. 3 meters.
It is best to use the central access to the lake. There are enough parking spaces there and you can easily get into the water through high steps. From the middle of the lake you can dive in the right part. In the middle of the lake there are tall reeds, especially in the summer months. That is why we recommend diving in the shore area. The western bank area (on the right as seen from the entrance) is very nicely overgrown. Most beautiful, however, is the short south bank across from the entrance. You can stay there for hours and watch the fish. The east bank is only overgrown with some reeds, but you can always find carp there in the flat area.
The lake is also ideal for night diving and with a little luck you will see one of the many eels and pike hunting.
