This source is mentioned as early as the 12th century, and in the 16th century it is considered a mineral spring. On the instructions of the Ascher manufacturer Gustav Geipel, the spring was tested in 1879 and consequently a wooden altar was erected. In 1930 it was converted into a brick pavilion. He stands here until today.
According to local legend, the spring has a beneficial effect on longevity and potency. It is also recommended for muscle rheumatism, metabolic disorders and gout. With its composition it is similar to the springs, which are located in the spa town of Bad Brambach.

Dolní Paseky is located three and a half kilometers northeast of Aš in the Elster Mountains. The village is located in the valley of the White Elster, which is dammed below the village. North rises the Vyhlídka (Gürther mountain, 678 m), southeast of the Stráž (Wachtberg, 716 m), in the southwest of the Skřivánčí vrch (Lerchenberg, 736 m) and west of the Háj (Hainberg, 757 m).

Neighboring towns are Kopaniny and Doubrava in the north, Gürth and Lohhäuser in the northeast, Kleedorf, white horse and greens in the east, Bad Brambach, Röthenbach and Horní Paseky in the southeast, Vernéřov in the south, Aš in the southwest, Mikulov and Krásná in the west and Marak, Smrčina and Podhradí in the northwest.
