It took until the 100th anniversary for the first democracy on German soil to receive its own memorial site in Weimar, the place where it was founded. The Weimar Republic Association e.V. is committed to researching the history and experiences of the Weimar Republic and making them useful for our democracy today. The permanent exhibition in the skylight hall of the former art gallery invites you to learn more about the Weimar Republic - from its revolutionary beginnings to its political establishment and consolidation, people's everyday lives and the new opportunities of the "Golden Twenties" to the crises and challenges that the young democracy faced.
