After rain it gets difficult and muddy..! Impossible with slippery tires in my opinion.
We rode through with an electric mountain bike / trekking bike and luggage. It was just about possible. The two trees lying across the road didn't make it any easier either.

I couldn't find any signs prohibiting cyclists. Anyone have photos?

There is a no-driving sign, but there is no alternative if you are on this side of the Doubs. According to the sign, the scooter route also leads through there, so the general driving ban cannot really apply. During the week, only one other cyclist came towards us there.
