The most exciting way up to or down from Yewbarrow North Top is Stirrup Crag. It's less than 500 feet (150 m) from the col at Dore Head to the Yewbarrow summit ridge in terms of elevation, yet the path is relentlessly steep and poses fun scrambling terrain. The views into upper Mosedale towards Red Pike and Pillar are exceptional.

Great little scramble route to reach the summit of Yewbarrow. Plenty of good hand & foot holds and options for all abilities. A must-do if you're completing the Mosedale Horseshoe!

Steep Rocky decent quite short but involves a bit of scrambling tricky in the wet take the left hand path half way along the ridge to avoid it
