The construction of the hut goes back to a project by Ralf Malcher (1880–1957), co-founder of the Baden (near Vienna) section of the German and Austrian Alpine Association (DuOeAV), which was re-established on February 3, 1905, and the first hut warden, in 1908 initiative, as a result of which the shell of the hut was carried out by a construction company at its storage location in Mödling in 1910. A year later, the structure was transferred to its current location, completed on October 11, 1911, opened on July 1, 1912 and inaugurated (at the beginning of a three-day festival) on August 5, 1912. On August 4, 1914, management was suspended until further notice due to the war. After the military lockdown in 1915, the hut was repeatedly broken into; Some of the paths in the hut area were dilapidated. In 1926, the unmanaged Badener Hütte offered ten dormitories. In 1927 the property became unencumbered.
In 1950, the Baden section of the German Alpine Club (DAV) became part of the Baden branch of the Austrian Alpine Club (ÖAV). The winter hut was built in 1970/71 (to accommodate up to eight people); In 1982/83, a number of additions and extensions were removed from the main house and replaced by a spacious porch that was more conducive to the overall picture. Between 1995 and 1998 the guest room was successively enlarged, the drinking water supply was rebuilt in accordance with the authorities' requirements and a small power plant was created to provide electricity; In 1999 a small sewage disposal plant followed.
