The path, entirely unpaved and composed almost exclusively of boulders and gravel, is mostly downhill and connects the "Le Crocette" district to the Sant'Andrea plain. Although it can also be traveled uphill, I strongly advise against it since the rocks that make up the route in its last part are not fixed to the ground, making sliding easy and pedaling particularly difficult.

The descent has a fairly constant slope but is very varied: it goes from very fast sections to more technical parts where you have to pay attention to where you go and is interspersed with a few short climbs here and there to give rest to the joints.

I highly recommend paying attention to hikers who often walk on this and the nearby trails, and to livestock, who can block the road or suddenly come off the sides of the trail when grazing.

At the end of the route, at the intersection with the Via Appia on the Itri side, turning left you can easily reach the Via Appia Antica.
