Large wide beach. From here you can take the water taxi back to the starting point of the hike. From the boat you can watch the rays on the beach.

Well protected by headlands to the north and south, Anchorage Bay is the ideal place for sailors to anchor their boats - hence the name. South of Anchorage Bay is the Pitt Head Loop track and the typically crescent-shaped golden-sand Te Pukatea Bay. To the north, beyond a tidal estuary, lies Torrent Bay. At low tide it's about 20 minutes directly across the estuary to Torrent Bay and about an hour to Cleopatra's Pool. The Abel Tasman route goes around the estuary at high tide and takes around 1-1.5 hours (abeltasman.com)
