Here, on the beautiful Graswarder, there is space for plants and birds that are worthy of protection. The Graswarder is a unique nature reserve with a diverse flora and fauna. The migration of birds is an impressive natural spectacle. From March to May, over 40 bird species find a home here. Gentle cooperation between humans and animals – that goes without saying for us. From Easter to October, nature guides explain our paradise and open our visitors' eyes to this wonderful piece of earth. The flora also has a lot to offer here. In addition to dune, salt marsh and beach wall plants, thrifts and celery also grow. Nature is the simplest, yet the best gift.

On the coast of our beautiful harbor town of Heiligenhafen, the Graswarder peninsula, together with the Steinwarder peninsula in front of it, forms a sprawling peninsula with a fascinating 230-hectare nature reserve. Wherever you look, you'll find vastness! With a length of approximately 2.5 km and a width of approximately 300 m, the reserve represents an important habitat for a diverse range of flora and fauna. It was designated a nature reserve in 1968 on behalf of the German Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU), and was expanded in 1987. Great NSG. The houses right by the sea are now protected. You can't get any closer to the water - and it's certainly not an advantage. It's definitely worth a trip there.
