      The hike along the Estligen waterfalls is definitely worth it. We took the train up, did a lap on the alp and then went down along the waterfalls. Be careful near the falls. In parts it is quite precipitous and becomes quite slippery due to the rushing water of the falls. But the cows that want to go to the Engsligen Alp make it every year. I think that's quite an achievement for a cow like that.

      In June, the alpine summer is heralded with an old tradition: the Alpaufzug. It is not without reason that it is considered one of the most spectacular in Switzerland. Every year in early summer, the approximately 500 animals have to master a particularly steep ascent and in places almost climb over the rocky ground. "This year we are particularly looking forward to the Alpaufzug, because we can finally share this unique spectacle with other fans again after a two-year Corona break," says Dominik Honegger, Managing Director of Bergbahnen Engstligenalp AG. "This year, the spectators can again cheer for the animals when they arrive and then enjoy the fine alpine brunch in the mountain hotel". The cows and other animals spend the summer in the cool mountain air and look forward to every visit.
