Then turn to Kretinga. One of the oldest western cities of Lithuania, Kretinga is perfect for a short getaway from the seaside uproar. Kretinga landmarks are still unknown to many people, but travellers who discover them recommend visiting and admiring Kretinga Manor House Museum, park, the magnificent Catholic Church and the monastery. Kretinga Manor has been known since the 16th century. Count Juozapas Tiškevičius bought the manor in 1875, reconstructed it and built a conservatory. He founded the Winter Garden there. There you can see fan palms, banana trees, cacti, orange trees, laurel trees, lemon trees, a huge acacia tree, and coral walled creepers. Down the rocks falls a waterfall which flows water into small ponds.
Near the Kretinga Manor is the Kretinga Tourist Information Center (3). There you can get more information about activities, routes, restaurants and more.
