Steeg with its 680 inhabitants is the last municipality just before the end of the Lech Valley.
The districts of Steeg, Lechleiten and Gehren to the west are located at the end of the Lech Gorge, which is well worth seeing, and thus directly on the border with Vorarlberg. The holiday resort in the Tyrolean Ausserfern, connected to the Lechtal cycle path, is a quiet street village over which the 2,406 meter high local mountain Pimig towers. It is located in the center of an extensive hiking area with well-marked trails, for example to the Bockbachalpe with the “Gamsvroni” snack station. In winter, cross-country skiers can look forward to perfectly groomed trails, and alpine skiers have a large choice between some small family ski areas in the Lech Valley and the huge winter sports arena on the Arlberg. There are still traditional handicrafts in Steeg, which, for example, the wood carving workshop Lorenz and the natural cheese dairy Sojer demonstrate to their visitors. If you want to be pampered with wellness offers, the indoor adventure pool "Aqua Nova" is the right place for you. You can recharge your batteries naturally in the local natural Kneipp facility.
