This is beyond type 2 fun to be honest, especially in wet conditions. The railings and wooden steps put in places at stages are utterly useless, as the railings are slippy, as are the rounded wooden steps. Highly recommended not to take any bike there, it might be fun to hike for fit people, but I can't understand how this is called a 'Great Walk' - and classed as mountain bike route. Kudos for getting through there with panniers, I used a very light bikepacking setup and good shoes and struggled a lot.
