The castle, the remains of which can still be seen today in Böblingen's city forest, dates back to the time before the city was founded. Unfortunately, it is not known exactly when and by whom it was built. However, it is suspected that the castle was already built in the 11th or 12th century. According to legend, the robber baron Bobilo, who is also associated with the city's name, lived here. At the same time as this castle at the Ochsentrog, another castle complex existed on the Schloßberg hill, which served to protect the settlement and was later expanded into a palace.
