The characteristic free-standing fish gate is a symbol of the Lednica Fields and the central element of the Lednica 2000 National Youth Meetings held there every summer. This event attracts tens of thousands of people from all over Poland and the world every year. It is also called the Gate of the Third Millennium, and its form refers to the Greek word "ichthys" - fish, the symbol of Christ. At the climax of the meetings, their participants symbolically go through the gate.
