Without the name tag "Räiberschlössle" you almost walk past it. But if you then take the secured path around the rock, it turns out to be hollow: a large space within a rock wreath with individual embrasures that offer extreme views of the Wutach Gorge, and two large trees as sun and weather protection. A really unique place for a rest!

The Räuberschlösschen was once built as Burg Neu Bumegg by the lords of Blumegg. The first mention of the castle can be found in the 14th century. In 1525 it fell victim to the Peasants' War and was destroyed. After being abandoned by the knights of the castle, it became a habitation of evil rabble. This used the castle not only as a shelter, but also as a starting point for numerous raids in the surrounding villages. According to a town sign, the former castle Neu Blumegg has been given its new name by the bustle of this Gesindels. Today only a few remains of the castle are preserved from the castle. Nevertheless, the castle is a very popular hiking destination of the Wutachschlucht, not least because of its beautiful view of the Wutach.

There used to be a castle here. This would be destroyed in the peasants' war and then 'servants' stayed here. Hence robbery locks. Today simply a nice place to rest, recovered in the semicircle of the rock.

You don't even see the Räuberschlössle. It's a small hidden place behind a rock. Hidden, of course, so the robbers couldn't be seen directly. But be careful here: If you stray from the path here, it can go steeply down and the paths are super narrow. It's best to stay on the wide paths.
