Adventurous shortcut from Camp Vira to Hvar. Saves 2 km uphill and 2 km downhill over the mountain.

From Camp Vira right down the street in the direction of the fishing port, a path on the left leads to a hidden, partially closed tunnel (take your lighting with you !!!!)
There is a makeshift ramp made of boards for cyclists. Allegedly a sewer was buried here because there is a sewage treatment plant near the fishing port. (Don't worry, it doesn't run free, doesn't smell either. Be careful, there is a big stone in between, but the tunnel is wide and high. You come out of a boat repair shop, then you have asphalt under your wheels again The tunnel is not illuminated and the path is not tarred. Light or torch is recommended, especially in the evening ...

So we were there today at the beginning of the tunnel and there was a sign saying no entry due to danger of collapse. But that is not taken so seriously here. You can drive through, but beautiful is something else. We drove around the outside. It was definitely more beautiful. But the fishing port of Vira is not worth it. The journey was good, the destination was not.
