Whoever arrives in the valley of the Fus di Ome, where the Botanical Garden of conifers is located, is faced with a landscape where the encounter with man seems to have just happened. A lot of attention and keen eyesight is needed to discover ancient traces and signs of rural industriousness belonging to by now remote times, where time and the forest, like patient weavers, have lowered a veil made of trees and shrubs. The idea of designing a botanical garden was great, fascinating for those who know how to accept and allow themselves to be conquered by lyrical challenges. How much effort was put in, then, by the people who made it.
It is precisely in the locality of "Pradizì del Paradis" (little meadow of paradise) where science, politics, thought and work met, and to discover that all together had a great goal: to create beauty.
In the botanical garden there are seven families of conifers (Pinaceae, Taxodiacee, Cupressaceae, Taxacee, Cefalotaxacee, Araucariacee, Podocarpacee), the species present are 82 and each is represented by at least two specimens.
