Best done from the north because hardly any road traffic. You cycle through farmland then climb in forest before breaking out into typical Pyrenean open pasture. Great view from the top across to Superbagneres and into Spain.
An easy descent via Bourg d’Oeuil to the D618 where you must decide to either tackle the Peyresourde, or freewheel on down to Luchon for lunch.
