          Isla de Las Palomas, also called Isla de Tarifa, is a small, rocky island 150 meters south of the southern tip of mainland Spain near the city of Tarifa (and part of the metropolitan area), Cadiz province, Andalusia. The island used to be called Isla Junioas.

          Punta de Tarifa is considered the southernmost point of mainland Spain and continental Europe, but is not on the mainland but on the offshore Isla de las Palomas. The cape is considered the border point between the Mediterranean Sea, specifically the Strait of Gibraltar, and the open Atlantic.
