This fountain is one of several that were used in Schöningen long after the end of the war. Now it is a very nicely designed sight in the city in a central location.

there are many historical things to see here, a historical fountain made of bronze, it is supposed to represent a drill core and to remind of the mineral resources. Schöningen is the oldest documented settlement in the Braunschweig region.
Then there is also the water maiden, which is also the symbol of the city and reminds us that Schöningen had the hardest water in Germany until 1960, when even softer water was delivered from Warberg from a soft water well.
The old town hall and local history museum are also represented there, as well as the St. Vincenz church
