This olive tree, over 1,100 years old, is attributed to being an example of the new agricultural customs introduced by the Muslims during the period of the Emirate of Córdoba, around the year 900.

Originally it was located at the southern end of the term of Daimiel, and it was transplanted to the current place in 1998 thanks to a donation. It belongs to the "Cornicabra" variety and has become an emblem of the city.

The “millenary” olive tree in the Plaza de España in Daimiel was transplanted to its current location amid great controversy in 1998, coming from land in the surrounding area.

It was donated to the city by the owners of the farm where it was located. Planted by trees, it is supposed to be about 900 years old and seems to have adapted well to the new place. In the same square we can find the Town Hall.
