The Hispe area represents one of the last larger hardwood alluvial forests in the Neiße valley. In addition to the hardwood alluvial forests, there are mixed deciduous forest communities, grassland areas and a larger oxbow lake. The area is north of Groß Bademeusel directly behind the dyke and is part of a pronounced alluvial sand fan at the entrance of the Neisse into the Baruth glacial valley (management planning Natura 2000 in the state of Brandenburg)
