The 146-hectare Schermützelsee is the largest lake in the Märkische Schweiz and is especially popular with bathing-hungry Berliners. The lake is at its deepest point 38 meters deep, has a good water quality and allows visibility depths of up to 3.5 meters thanks to its water clarity. The beach is located near Buckow on the northeastern shore.
