Lake Adolfo is a real insider tip. Since it is not officially a bathing lake, swimming at this lake is only tolerated and you can do so at your own risk. The lake was leased in 1973 by the Ratheimer Angelverein and has been a popular and fish-rich body of water for many anglers and divers from the area ever since. There is also a filling station on the lake for divers. In addition to the Ratheim fishing club, there is also a sailing club with a mooring, which enables sailing and windsurfing on Lake Adolfo. However, there are also loungers on the beach that allow you to sunbathe after bathing in the water. Bathing with dogs in the lake is only tolerated as it is not an official bathing lake. For cyclists there is a Rurufer cycle path along the lake. The diverse landscape of the Rurgraben near Ratheim is also ideal for hiking, walking or jogging.

Camping, storage and tents as well as larger events are not allowed due to the nature reserve. In the meantime, however, there is a kiosk, boat rental and toilets on site. There is a large parking lot for cars, the parking rules of which are monitored by security. It is approx. 300 m from the swimming area. The city center of Heinsberg is approx. 800 meters from the lake.

Dogs on a leash are allowed around the lake. In some places in the city, there are also bag dispensers available for proper disposal of the remains.
