Plan an extra 1 to 2 hours if you do the worthwhile guided cave tour. They are just as impressive as the caves at Porto Cristo, but not as over-marketed. The entrance fee includes the guided tour, which is held in several languages, including German.

The Coves d'Artà is one of Mallorca's most spectacular caves, reaching up to 40 meters underground. Once used as a pirate hideout, it now boasts gigantic stalactite formations. The large "Hall of Heaven" and the stalagmites, which can reach up to 22 meters in height, are particularly impressive.

Worth seeing cave, not quite as crowded as the caves of Portochristo, but not as big.
The light show with background music, which now also exists, is not as kitschy as the one in the Portochristo caves.

The Coves d' Artá are around 13 km south-east of Artá, directly on the coast. The entrance is characterized by an impressive vault, which can be reached via a staircase from the parking lot.
A constant temperature of 18°C prevails in the approximately 400 meter long cave system. The path leads through various halls with evocative names such as Sala de las Banderas (Flag Hall) or Salon de la Reina de las Columnas. There is the Queen of Pillars. It reaches a remarkable height of 22 meters. The highlight of the tour is a beautiful play of colors, which is accompanied by classical music. If the weather is not so nice, the Coves d' Artá are a good alternative to the beach.

a trail leads from font sa de cala to the top, the view is great, the second half of the way is steep and rocky, you have time, either you go back the same way, or the steep descent to canyamel. 3km away.

You can get here by bus (424) from Cala Ratjada. to the cave you have to climb the stairs and follow the road for about 400 m.

Entry was absolutely worth it! Children up to 7 years are free. Adults pay € 15 per person. Guide speaks Spanish, English and German. Very impressive.

Coffee is also available at an acceptable price.

Nice cave, with guide. Great light effects and music. If you take the combination of boat trip and cave visit, you save enormously on the entrance fee.
