I can only recommend that everyone take the "Secret Paths" tour of the castle. It is very informative, not boring at all, and you get to see rooms, towers and cellars that remain hidden from others.
Our castle guide, Mr. Scheuermann, was simply great and took a lot of time. We were lucky enough to have him to ourselves 😉. Thank you again for everything.

Secret Paths

As part of the "Secret Paths" tour, you will visit the "old" treasury, the shield wall, a cellar in the castle, the Gothic Hall and the St. Elisabeth Chapel, and climb the seven-story keep.
When: Saturday + Sunday at 10.30 a.m. + 1 p.m.
Duration: around 90 minutes
Cost: adults 5 euros,
Children and young people up to 18 years: 2 euros

Castle administration,

The mighty castle towers over a kilometer long - exactly 1051 meters - over the listed old town. The families of the Lower Bavarian Dukes of Wittelsbach lived here more than 500 years ago, most recently the Duchess Hedwig, who was famous for the Landshut wedding. Today, the castle is considered the longest castle in the world and home to many castle houses (approx. 200 people live in the castle). There are also three museums and a gallery on the castle grounds. The castle is the namesake and outstanding landmark of the beautiful city - a "kind of city crown and dominant defiance at the same time". On a walk through the six castle courtyards, which are strung together like a pearl necklace, you can feel the medieval flair.
