    This area of the Teltow Canal is surrounded by nature and very worthwhile. There is hardly any sign of the city. With a bit of luck, you can observe several cranes up close. There are numerous ways to combine the canal path with alternative hiking routes and sights. The path is easy and well-walkable, but not wheelchair accessible.

        One of the most beautiful riverside paths in Potsdam runs along the Griebnitzsee at the foot of the Neubabelsberg villa colony. The former border strip stretches from Babelsberg Park to the (West) Berlin city limits in Stubenrauchstraße. The character of the design and the legal status are still being debated. Some areas of the trail are currently closed to public use by residents until further notice.

                The 2.5 kilometers on this side of the Griebnitzsee are, in my opinion, the most beautiful on the lake. However, the well-developed path does not always lead directly along the shore. This means that the lake is not always easy to see, especially in summer when there is a lot of vegetation. 😉 However, the path is very shady. 👍
                During my hike on June 18, 2024, there was not a single bench on this section. Which is of course a shame. 😞

                  The narrow, L-shaped Griebnitzsee lies in a glacial trough and is around three kilometers long. It borders the Berlin district of Wannsee to the north and the Potsdam district of Babelsberg to the south. There, at the southernmost point of the lake, is the Griebnitzsee train station at the eastern end of Neubabelsberg.
