Newly built in 2021! The hotel is insanely beautiful. High up, almost at the top of the pass, right where the view is most spectacular. All around is a series of peaks, there are alpine pastures, wonderfully wild nature.
For 120 years, the predecessor towered over the Schächental: the Art Nouveau Hotel Klausenpasshöhe. The new Hotel Klausenpass is a few meters further down. It impresses in a different way. There are the large window fronts - wow, the wide view! And a lot of daylight comes into the interior of the hotel.

if you have reached the hotel or the viewpoint at the parking lot, it is not far to the top of the pass. Only 1km to Klausen (pass height 1952m / 6404ft)
The very beautiful alpine landscape along the quite long ascent is a great experience. (Make sure you have enough fluids in sunny weather, there is hardly any shade and apart from a short stretch (approx. -100m downhill) there is always tension on the chain ;-) The slope is largely even, ideal for endurance racing cyclists.
