The Titlis (also called Gross-Titlis) is a 3,238m high mountain 🏔️ in the Urner Alps and lies on the border of the cantons of Obwalden, Bern and Nidwalden.
The Titlis is the highest mountain in a 20-kilometer-long mountain range, which runs in a slight curve from west-southwest to northeast between the Bernese Haslital and the Urner Reuss valley. The Titlis slopes steeply to the south and east. To the west only a narrow, jagged ridge connects it with the neighboring peaks. Only to the north, to the municipality of Engelberg, does the terrain run with a relatively moderate gradient and with two larger terraces.
Below the summit is the Titlis Glacier, which is one of the smaller Alpine glaciers.
Once a year the Titlis Bergbahnen organize the TITLIS Mountain Trophy 🏆
The unique ascent of the three-thousand-meter peak on foot is a challenge for everyone - from families to competitive athletes! With four refreshment stations, however, you are well prepared for it 😉 👍
