The Torre dels Moros is a watchtower in the municipality of Sant Llorenç de la Muga (Alt Empordà) declared a cultural asset of national interest. To the southwest and on the outskirts of the village, on the other side of the river, on top of a hill is a large medieval watchtower. This tower dominated and guarded the entire valley. It is a cylindrical tower erected on a partially worked limestone plinth. Of a height of 10 meters approximately, with 6 meters of inner diameter with walls of 1.80 meters in thickness. The device is made of limestone with badly squared ashlars, which at the bottom are not even placed forming rows, while as they go up they form rows and the ashlars are better cut. Loopholes are visible on the wall and corbels on top of everything. The front door is level and one meter above the ground. The interior has two floors covered with hemispherical vaults, around the first floor are visible remains of the reeds. There is no full scale, for defensive reasons. [1] According to a document from 1292, in the time of King James II, to defend the village, there were thirty-five men in the village, eight of them in the castle, and four in this tower.
