In summer, the Krumme lake invites you to swim and the bathing area is well visited. The Krumme lake does not have its name by chance: over two kilometers it extends over several turns. It was created at the end of the last ice age over 15,000 years ago. At its lowest point it is about ten feet deep.

The Krumme See is located in the Krummensee district of the same name. The lake is particularly popular because of its natural bathing beach with a children's playground, the adjacent sports facilities such as beach volleyball and soccer fields, public toilets and the idyllic sunbathing lawn. There is also a rustic restaurant "Strandhaus am Krummen See" right next to the beach. In summer you can see many bathers as well as anglers and paddlers on the lake. The 65 km long "Hofjagdweg" cycle route also runs past the lake. The Krumme See borders the Sutschketal nature reserve. The Sutschketal lies between the district of Krummensee in the north and Bestensee in the south. It is about 63 hectares. Wet meadows, reed beds, alder forests and bog areas can be found on the marshy valley floor.

A circular hike around the Krummen See is also possible thanks to a new bridge in the Sutschketal.

The Krumme See is a 27.11 hectare body of water. To the west is the municipality of Krummensee, east of Zeesen. In the south lies the Sutschketal nature reserve and the Groß Beste community part. From there, the Pritzelgraben is the only tributary that flows into the Krummen See, which emerges again on the northern bank and drains into the Notte after around two kilometers further north.
