The original mansion was rebuilt into a Gothic fortress in the 1570s by Mikuláš Svitáček from Landštejn, the highest scribe of the land records.
In 1770, the building was demolished and the masonry dismantled and used to strengthen the surrounding weirs and dams. Only the 20-meter-high entrance tower with a mansard roof has survived, on the second floor there is a living room with a star vault.
The tower is accessible by prior arrangement and during cultural events.

Great place. The fort itself is nicely maintained as well as its surroundings. The owner has good stories that he tells during the tour of the Fortress. The entrance fee is symbolic - 50 CZK/person
