What better way to picture the Church than in the words of its bishop.

Because of its history, its light and its unity, the Nantes Cathedral is an important building in the city and for the life of the diocese.

It helps visitors to better understand the spiritual values that have shaped the culture of our region over the centuries and how this culture was expressed through religious art.

It reminds Christians of the message they convey and of the mission of the artists. The Second Vatican Council says in its message to artists: "This world in which we live needs beauty in order not to fall into despair. Beauty, like truth, is that which brings joy to the hearts of people , is the precious fruit that withstands the wear and tear of time, that connects the generations and joins them in admiration; And that through your hands ".
