    A scenic hiking trail leads through the Puittal valley over green meadows up to the Scharnitzjoch pass. The main ridge of the Wetterstein massif rises to the north, while the valley is bordered on the south side by the rugged north face of the Gehrenspitze.

            A tour from Puitbach up to the Alm, over the Scharnitzjoch to the Wangalm or Wettersteinhütte and back down into the Gaistal is more pleasant to walk. Otherwise a great and unforgettable tour. We saw horses, cows, sheep, chamois and marmots.
