      The Haardtrand - Am Heidelberg nature reserve is located in the area of the urban district Neustadt an der Weinstrasse in Rhineland-Palatinate.

      The 20.11 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection by ordinance of April 21, 1992, extends on the western outskirts of Hambach an der Weinstrasse, a district of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse. The state road L 512 runs not far to the east.
      The area includes vineyards, fruit plots, shrubbery and fringing biotopes, forest and forest edge areas, dry stone walls and vineyard terraces.

      The purpose of protection is
      - the maintenance and development of an area characterized by a diverse pattern of use made up of vineyards with different management intensities, fruit plots, shrubbery and fringing biotopes, forest and forest edge areas, dry stone walls and vineyard terraces,
