In 1888, Moritz Israel acquired the manor. For almost 30 years, he was co-owner of the oldest and for many decades most famous Berlin department store, "Nathan Israel". In 1889, he built a mansion in the neo-Renaissance style and two years later gave it as a wedding present to his son Richard Israel and his wife Bianca Cohn.

During the Nazi era, the Israel family was forced to leave the manor. Some members of the family were deported.

After the end of the GDR, the palace and park were returned to Israel's heirs. At present, the decision on the further use of the palace, which has been placed under ensemble protection along with the patronal church, administrator's house and square, seems to still be pending.
