The Gänsturm in Weikersheim was built around 1320 and was one of the access gates in the city wall. It was so badly damaged in the Second World War that it was actually supposed to be torn down. Citizens prevented this. In 2002, the tower was rebuilt true to the original according to plans from 1721.
Today it houses the city museum and serves as an observation tower.

Under the motto "Present from the past", the city museum in and on the Gänsturm gives an insight into the history of the city of Weikersheim. It is a local museum in the best sense of the word. Climbing the Gänsturm offers a wonderful view over the Tauber Valley.
