The Piedmontese farmhouse was built in 1792/93 by the building director of Prince Leopold III. Friedrich Franz von Anhalt-Dessau Georg Christoph Hesekiel was built on a hill on the bank of the Great Wallloch. According to legend, Grand Duke Carl August von Sachsen-Weimar had it built as a gift for Prince Franz. The Grand Duke often stayed in Wörlitz and Dessau with Goethe and received many suggestions for beautifying his own country.

In the meantime (08/2021) overnight stays / living in the historical building in the middle of nature directly on the Elbwall - for 2 to 4 people - from 2 nights - are offered.

The plastered rectangular building with a gable roof over a massive substructure made of boulders has a floor area of 6.60 x 9.00 meters. With the basement, a main floor, an upper floor and the attic, it has always offered sufficient living and usable space. Presumably as early as the 19th century, it was therefore permanently inhabited until 2010.
The Piedmontese farmhouse was renovated in 2015-2016 thanks to a generous gesture by the Christa Verhein Foundation and the German Foundation for Monument Protection. With a living room, an eat-in kitchen and a bathroom on the ground floor as well as two bedrooms and a toilet on the upper floor, two to four people can stay overnight. Bookings are made through the “Zum Stein” ring hotel, which is approx. 750 meters away.
