12/25/2017 - The ancient village of Leiten once stood on an old hill on the site of today's plateau. In 1819 Archduke Carl, the victor of Aspern, bought the entire town. He had the hill leveled to build a castle for his young wife Henriette von Nassau Weilburg. The architect was none other than Joseph Kornhäusel.
On August 19, 1964, the rest of the ruins were blown up. The only thing left - the coat of arms stone - portico. 😊👍
