About 1500 animals live in Krakow Zoo with over 250 species including elephants, big cats and camels. The mini zoo is particularly popular with children.
There is an inexpensive snack bar both in the zoo and in front of it.
Admission costs 22 złoty as of 2021.
I noticed the very well-kept overall condition and the many flowers.
The standards for animal welfare have been successively improved since the 1990s. The elephant now has an elephant friend and a lot more exercise and the big cats are no longer locked in cages, but have nice enclosures. The giraffes have to stretch a lot to get their food. Investments are still being made in this zoo, and a new chimpanzee enclosure is under construction.
Attention: In the months of July and August and on weekends you have to get up early to get a parking space or to travel by bus.

An atmospheric zoo. Located in a beautiful forest with many hiking and cycling routes around. You can later go to the nearby Piłsudski Mound.
